Imogen Heap announced in January 2011 that she had plans to create a crowd-sourced song by asking fans to upload music or sound clips which she would then piece together with lyrics she had written based on ideas or words submitted by fans. The song would be released two weeks later and would also source images for the cover art and the pages within and video clips to be used within the music video for the song. Heap used Ustream to live blog everyday during the process of making the song to check in with her fans. Her niece's heartbeat was also incorporated into the song as she was born around the time the project began. The song was eventually titled "Lifeline".
So here it is.
The concept for the upcoming record is to record one track over a period of several weeks every 3 months over the course of roughly three years. Each song will be released immediately.
The genius woman strikes again.
You're not allowed to dislike someone this brilliant.
